Healthiest Employers of Greater Baltimore

Each year, the Healthiest Employers® awards program honors the best and brightest in workplace wellness. Over the past year and a half, it has become apparent that when it comes to employees’ overall well-being, employers have an incredible opportunity to offer benefits that fit an employee’s unique needs – regardless of where they are in their health journey.
The Healthiest Employers assessment is scored Rubric style on a 1-100 scale. The assessment is made up of six categories with yes/no, multiple choice, and short answer questions, with each question totaling .25-3 points. A Healthiest Employers Index (HEI) is assigned to each applicant to help rank among companies of similar size.

The b.well Connected Health platform provides an all-in-one integrated solution for consumer engagement, holistic health management, and cost containment. Their program’s primary focus is to create personalized content and resources that empowers their workforce to take control of their health and close gaps in care. Through their internal algorithms, they have been able to track condition compliance, medication adherence, and biometric data to make sure their employees are receiving the most appropriate care. Their leadership team also holds regular “Office Hours” to provide all members of the team a platform that allows their voices to be heard.

Founded in 1999, Brightview Senior Living builds, owns, and operates more than 40 senior living communities with over 4,500 associates. Operating in 8 states, Brightview offers independent living, assisted living, enhanced care, and care for those living with dementia. 2020 marks Brightview’s 6th straight year of decreased health plan costs. For the past 3 years, they waived insurance premiums as an award to employees for their hard work throughout the years. In addition to the Healthiest Employers award, they have also been named a Great Place to Work and a 2021 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Bon Secours Mercy Health is the United States’ fifth largest Catholic healthcare ministry, which strives to drive healthcare quality while also reducing costs and addressing community issues. Through targeted interventions, they were able to provide communications to specific subsets of their population to address issues relating to each subset. Despite the global pandemic, in 2020, 63% of employees completed their biometric screening, and 77% completed their age-specific preventive exam.
