Background

Trane Technologies is a global climate innovator connected by our purpose to boldly challenge what’s possible for a sustainable world. Together, we’re leading a bold sustainability strategy, uplifting each other and the communities where we work and live, and building an engaging culture where our people can grow and thrive through meaningful benefits, compensation, flexibility, and development opportunities.

How We "Be Well"

We have a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of our employees and their families by offering benefits and programs to help them take charge of their physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being. Trane Technologies’ U.S. wellness program is designed around three pillars of well-being

  • Take Care: Empowers employees to practice preventive care, eat well, understand their health status, and be good health care consumers.
  • Move More: Encourages employees to get active by themselves, with colleagues, and for their communities.
  • Live Well: Supports employees to understand resources available to support their social, emotional, and financial well-being.

Through our personalized wellness platform, Be Well, we enable employees to participate in various activities that are meaningful to them. Employees and spouses enrolled in our U.S. medical plan also have the opportunity to earn significant financial rewards for participating in wellness activities throughout the year. We see high program participation, with 68% of eligible participants registered on the Be Well platform and 96% of those registered completing more than one wellness activity per program year.

How We Give Back

Part of our mission and vision is to be a company that uplifts our people, culture, and communities – but for us, that statement is so much more than just its words. We understand the vital importance of corporate citizenship, of sharing our resources to contribute to the health and sustainability of our planet. And as part of our 2030 Sustainability Commitments, we made a bold corporate citizenship pledge to donate $100 million and 500,000 employee volunteer hours toward uplifting under-represented students through education and pathways to green and STEM careers

Because we know that volunteerism provides important benefits for communities and employees, our wellness strategy includes volunteerism as one of the many ways employees and spouses can engage with our wellness program. Volunteering provides a unique sense of fulfillment, helping to improve our employees’ social and emotional well-being, their sense of purpose, and pride. Wellness program participants can earn rewards for volunteering their time and joining volunteerism-themed challenges.

To make it easier for employees to find time to volunteer, Trane Technologies implemented a global volunteer Paid Time Off (PTO) policy. Under this policy, employees across the globe are eligible to use up to eight hours of paid time for volunteering.

Finally, in the U.S., Trane Technologies has a “Dollars for Doers” program that gives employees the opportunity to increase their giving by converting their time into non-profit grant dollars. Under this program, once an employee has donated their first 20 hours of volunteer time, they receive a one-time per year $250 reward to designate to a charity of their choice. Teams that volunteer 50 hours or more can apply for a $1,000 donation for a charity of the team’s choosing.

What's Next?

In 2022, we will continue to prioritize mental health awareness with campaigns to help reduce global stigmas around mental health and empower employees to utilize the mental health resources available to them. We will also strive to increase participation in our Global Be Well Challenge and implement enhanced programs that address diabetes management, nutrition, and weight management. Together, we boldly go!!
