In partnership with Springbuk, we are excited to announce our honorees for the 2023 Healthiest Employers of South Florida, with companies expanding from Miami to Palm Beach.

Six of these organizations American Express, BankUnited, N.A., Bean Automotive, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Royal Caribbean, and U-Haul were named to 2022 Healthiest 100 Workplaces America award. We will announce the 2023 award winners in October of this year.

2 to 99 Employees

1st Aimco – Denver, Colorado (Local Office: Miami) – 61 Employees

Aimco is a diversified real estate investment company with a nearly 30-year history of growth and innovation in the multifamily sector. Today, the Aimco platform is focused on a total return strategy that includes development, redevelopment, and other opportunistic investments. Each year, employees at Bentek can earn up to $1,000 into their HRA for the following year by choosing options from the created “Menu.” These funds are added to their account through a variety of activities including annual physicals, dental checkups, vision and hearing screenings, cancer screenings, gym use, monthly 5K participation, and several others.

The City of Coconut Creek is a full-service municipality located within the northern central portion of Broward County, the second most populated county in the State. With an estimated population of 56,030, Coconut Creek is the 56th largest city in Florida and the 714th largest city in the United States. The Coconut Creek wellness program has been designed to benefit all employees and encourages employees to get out of their comfort zone to try new activities. They are addressing mental health through specific wellness programs offered to their employees, which have been effective in promoting mental well-being and reducing the stigma associated with mental health challenges. The City offers meditation and mindfulness classes twice a week, which have been proven to reduce stress and improve mental health.

2nd City of Doral – Doral – 403 Employees

The City of Doral is committed to providing and serving its community by relentlessly pursuing the highest quality of life through the delivery of efficient, sustainable, transparent, ethical, and accountable government. The City of Doral added Peerfit, a credit-based fitness program that gives employees access to local and nationwide universal gyms and boutique fitness studios within their network. The program is funded by Aetna and employees are granted 30 free credits every month that can be used at any of the participating gyms or studios. Since the promotion of the program in February, they have seen an increase in registered users and a 45% increase in active users.

3rd Garden of Life LLC – Palm Beach Gardens – 290 Employees

Garden of Life is a whole food nutritional supplement health and wellness company on a mission to “Empower Extraordinary Health.” They provide 18 weeks of full pay for primary caregivers, and 4 weeks of full pay for secondary caregivers for births and adoptions to allow the family to bond and acclimate to a new family member. This is not a federal law in the US, but Garden of Life believes it is imperative to start off on the right foot with changes in the household.

The City of Pompano Beach, a municipal government employing over 1000 full/part-time employees and serving a population of over 111,000 residents, offers various services and initiatives to promote employee well-being. They provide personal physical training that covers injury prevention, sports performance, lifestyle coaching, and nutrition consultations. Additionally, the city addresses mental health by offering the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through HealthAdvocate Solutions. This program provides employees and their families with access to valuable resources and support for mental health-related concerns.
