1st Apex Benefits
Indianapolis, Indiana
83 Employees

Apex is a team of benefits strategists committed to helping employers build a culture of health and cost savings. The organization aims to innovate within a traditionally flawed industry, supporting those who advocate for employee well-being. With a data-driven approach, Apex delivers value beyond that of a traditional broker through high-quality analytics and strategic insight.

Apex offers employees up to $300 in taxable wellness reimbursements annually through its internal wellness program, designed to support all dimensions of health. This flexibility allows employees to pursue wellness in meaningful and personal ways, such as attending concerts with family for intellectual wellness, going white water rafting for physical wellness, or participating in a church retreat for spiritual wellness.

In 2024, the program achieved a 90% participation rate, with 81% of employees completing an annual physical or preventive exam.

Apex fosters community engagement by offering two paid Volunteer Time Off days each year and hosting an annual Community Day, during which the office closes so employees can volunteer together locally. Employees have access to Your Money Line for financial education and guidance, as well as direct access to a financial advisor for 401(k) and retirement planning.

1st Monarch Distributing
Indianapolis, Indiana
454 Employees

Founded in 1976 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, by Chris and Jude Reyes, Reyes Beverage Group (RBG) began as a single Schlitz beer distributor and has grown into the largest beer distributor in the United States. Still family-owned, RBG now operates 43 facilities nationwide, delivering over 280 million cases to more than 100,000 accounts each year. Monarch Distributing joined the Reyes Beverage Group in 2020 and operates from two facilities in Indianapolis and Evansville, distributing over 17 million cases annually to more than 7,200 customers. The company proudly offers one of the widest selections of import, craft, and domestic beers in the industry.

Monarch’s integrated health center, staffed with board-certified primary care clinicians and an on-site Doctor of Physical Therapy, serves as the foundation of its flagship Early Intervention Program (EIP). This program allows employees to seek care at the first sign of pain through walk-in visits or same-day virtual triage. Within 24 hours, team members receive immediate assessment and ergonomic coaching, up to four weeks of no-cost physical therapy, customized exercise and mobility plans, workstation adjustments, and seamless referrals for imaging or specialist care through the Care Navigation team.

By eliminating financial and logistical barriers, EIP encourages early reporting of discomfort—preventing minor issues from developing into recordable injuries. In 2024, fewer than 10% of industrial injuries resulted in any lost-time days, contributing to double-digit reductions in claim frequency, claim costs, and total lost days compared to 2023.

Supported by Monarch’s wage-protected Return-to-Work program, EIP helps employees recover faster, stay engaged, and remain connected to their peers. The result is a healthier, more resilient workforce that knows their well-being is Monarch’s top priority.
